Blood Drive - On Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. the Life South Bloodmobile will be at the Detachment, 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, Brooksville, accepting donations. A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board at the Detachment.
TEMPORARY CLOSING NOTICE - LEATHERNECK LOUNGE & GUNNY'S GALLEY - The Leatherneck Lounge will be closed beginning Sunday, August 8, 2010, through Wednesday, August 11, 2010, due to maintenance of the facility. The Lounge will reopen on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Gunny's Galley will be closed beginning Sunday, August 8, 2010, through Tuesday, August 10, 2010. The Galley will reopen on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. for Pasta Night. There will be no breakfast served on Sunday, August 8, 2010. Hope to see you back for the reopening of the Leatherneck Lounge and Gunny's Galley. ** NOTE: Steak Shoot will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Lunch will not be served; however, soft drinks/water will be available for purchase.
Motorcycle Run - Saturday, August 28, 2010, to benefit the Dr. Horace L. Smith Scholarship Fund begins at Marine Corps League Detachment 708, 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, Brooksville. Sign up is from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Route to include Bushnell VFW, Brooksville VFW, 10209 VFW (Anderson Snow Road), Hernando Beach VFW and will end at Marine Corps League Detachment 708. Halloween Costume Party - Marine Corps League Detachment 708, 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, Brooksville, FL, will hold a Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 30, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. - 10 p.m. Cover charge is $5.00 at the door with a covered dish/snack. The Leatherneck Lounge will be open for your choice of beverages. Prizes will be awarded for best individual, couple and group costume so come show your creativity. Marine Corps League Birthday Ball - Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Glen Lakes Country Club, Weeki Wachee. Social Hour @ 5:00 p.m.; Ceremony @ 6:00 p.m.; Dinner at 7:00 p.m. and Dancing following dinner. Tickets are $35 per person and available to Marine Corps League Members beginning August 16, 2010. Tickets are available to the general public beginning September 27, 2010. Cut off for ticket sales will be October 25, 2010.
